There are many of us who do bother about global warming and its impacts. Actually all human being living on this planet should be concerned about climate change and its massive effects. Every decision anyone makes has a consequence. We are all responsible for trash islands in the oceans, drinking water crisis, climate change refugees, lack of safe and nutritious food, growing inequality, not fair working environments, being busy living less…and I could name many more.
How my day-to-day actions impact other people and the environment? Every choice we make in life has a potential of changing in one way or another, for good or for bad…
In the last months I got questions during interviews and conversations where to start and how? How to take actions as an individual and consumer? How to become an engaged citizen and just do it a little better?
My thoughts started circling…

Climate change is an existential threat. We could find countless evidence to prove this, but more importantly, find more about the solutions. If you want to see it is all around you. I know there are a lot conflicting informations out there what meant by good or bad acts. Understanding and managing them within your life can be complex and challenging. It is very easy to get overwhelmed, confused and lost. It is really up to you which reality you chose or how you react to certain things. Some areas may require particular knowledge, skills, creativity or insights, but some of them only your pure instincts.
You think you are to small to have an impact? Think again, there is a lot we can do. Maybe you know what you should do, but in practice it feels hard to do many of those things.
I committed myself to live an authentic lifestyle as consciously and creatively as I possible can. It isn't about sacrificing. It's about thinking a little differently. Making the best decisions to create a positive impact. Making small changes again and again step-by-step. I am constantly analyzing what is most important to me and I start from there. I am picking up not only one cause, because being concerned about many things makes me more passionate. I learn a lot from trying and testing different practices and as I mix them, I get my own style. Not a sustainable, conscious, mindful, zero waste, vegan … lifestyle - my style. I could say a DoLessGetMoreDone lifestyle. Where I keep my questions, eyes and mind open for the sake of constant development.
I’m pretty sure we all need to change our lifestyles. I know I can’t tell you what to do exactly, but I can show you through my photos what we are risking to lose. I just hope you decide to care more and begin your journey somewhere…
inside You. What I learnt is the solution begins with your own transformation of being and then actions will naturally follow. We all start somewhere, don’t judge anyone who at least tries. Choose the thing that you can do best and most effectively and then don’t let others ruin your passion. We all fail and make mistakes. It’s not the place to stop to reduce your impact and create positive change.
Just check your ego and change your mindset. Think outside the box. Change your habits. Dare to be creative and visionary. Find the right balance. Make the most of every day. Make the right long-term choices. Make time for yourself and the things you love to do. Learn to say a “conscious no” without a hint of guilt. Inspire others in the process and let to be inspired. Stay open and aware. Change consumption and production patterns. Be responsible, ethical. Do not add more harm. Refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle and rot. Don’t let anyone (government, companies by marketing) fool you.
Be informed what is going around you and what is your actions’ impacts. Make conscious decisions how you live your life. Don’t think this whole sustainability thing is sorted out …
I’m sure you’ve seen news about the climate report that came out last week. “The only thing that changed, this week, is that the scientists, finally, have hit the panic button” “The real meaning is, “you have a permission to freak out”” “If we don’t do something drastic in the next 12 years, our world will become a hellish landscape.”
In this month I made a photo story about Algarve region coastline. As I mentioned before Portugal gives me a feeling and comfort of home, along with Andalusia. It allows me to slow down my mind on the way of searching a sustainable, happy way of life, the love of life and not least the courage to simply follow my intuition. “Being in the moment” and “go with the flow” is not a cliche there, not for me. I feel it and live it most of the time when I’m there. I find the beauty, joy, and gratitude in the moment as it happens. Become more aware of the present, instead of always thinking about the past and the future. Practicing conscious awareness helped me to become more aware of my own thoughts, understand myself better, think clearly and make better decisions that impact the world around me. I have found these experiences incredibly useful for affecting all areas of my life.
